Sarah: 'Matagal na po akong okay'
It's Sarah Geronimo's turn to air her side of the story.
Months after Cristine Reyes took to the social microblogging site Twitter for a verbal assault against who she called the “Drama Princess,” Sarah decided it was time to break her silence about the issue involving Rayver Cruz—a controversy that took the spotlight in entertainment media the past few days.
Karapatan ko rin namang ipagtanggol ang sarili ko, ang pamilya ko,” said Sarah in a taped interview aired through ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday, February 27.
Sarah first admitted her relationship with the young actor in a tell-all interview with YES! Magazine. In the interview published in the magazine’s March 2011 issue, Sarah revealed all the details about their relationship, noting that she defied all odds, even ignoring the advice of her parents just to be with Rayver. But when they drifted apart and Rayver admitted his ongoing romance with Cristine, Sarah said it was her first heartache, which taught her a valuable lesson.
At yun nga, ginagawa tayong mas malakas na tao, wiser and stronger.
But has Sarah really moved on?
"Matagal na po akong okay," the young actress said.
Sarah is currently finishing her movie with Gerald Anderson, the Star Cinema-Viva Films co-production, "Catch Me...I'm in Love."
Cristine retaliates
Cristine, known to be very vocal about her feelings, didn't let Sarah's recent revelation pass.
In a taped interview with “The Buzz” also aired Sunday, February 27, Cristine asserted that she was not the cause of Sarah’s break-up with Rayver.
And paano pagsasabayin, naging kami September 14. I think nag-break sila summer last year," revealed Cristine.
Cristine’s Twitter rant elicited strong reactions from readers, most of whom thought the actress overreacted to Sarah’s remark, “Pag magaling sumayaw habulin ng babaeng sexy,” which Rayver admitted to have overheard and relayed to her current girlfriend.
For now, Cristine is hoping that the "love triangle" issue will finally fade away.
